Idol Conspiracy: Jordin's Disappearing Tears

Jordin gets choked up at the end of her final song, but when AI shows the recap of her performances, they use a DIFFERENT clip where she appears much calmer at the end of her song. Seems like they had the recaps ready before the show even started. Check it out...

Greetings! Thanks for all the messages (especially the kind words and great spelling!)

This video is not meant as an attack on Jordin or American Idol. It is merely meant to illustrate that American Idol--which is supposedly a show in which contestants are rated on their LIVE performances--doesn't use LIVE footage in the recaps.

Our problem lies in the fact that, as has been correctly pointed out, the footage used in the recaps was shot at an earlier rehearsal, and was not live.

What's wrong with that? Imagine this scenario: You are a contestant on Idol. You and your opponent both deliver good dress rehearsal performances. But under the pressure of the live audience and live TV, something happens. You nail your live performance, totally knock it out of the park. But your opponent makes some serious mistakes in their live performance, really flubs it. But because the DRESS REHEARSAL performances are used in the recaps, the 30 million TV viewers don't see the stark differences in your LIVE performances because they are shown the dress rehearsal clips, right before the voting begins. Is that fair?

So the point is simply this:
1. This video proves that rehearsal clips are used in the recaps.
2. For a show that purports present the real contestants and performances and allow the public to select the winner based on those performances, it is disingenuous and potentially unfair to show clips that are NOT from the live performance in the recaps just before viewers are allowed to vote.

you do realize that they run through the show twice? once is the dress rehersal which is taped and the 2nd one is the live show. sometimes when the last performers go, they don't have time to edit something for the recap so they use the footage from the dress rehersal. Its no biggy, they do it all the time.

You took 2 DIFFERENT AIRINGS. I watch the whole season and this is 2 different shows. The second one (with the vote now at the bottom of the screen) is when she is singing to be voted for the night before. In the FIRST one this is her singing it AFTER she WON. This doesn't show anything except how it can look out of context.

Who cares. They used rehearsal tapes all the time since season 1, just watch the talk shows and interviews. The reason is they don't have enough time to edit last min esp the last singer. That is all.

whoever posted this is an idiot. the recap has ALWAYS been the dress rehearsal version of the performance. you can go down the list and check for yourself. stop making up controversies out of nothing.
