@CurryCobra There's another problem with freezing: It is done after you re dead. Because otherwise it would be murder because the people die in the process. So basically only dead bodies are frozen.

All Worship the Matt/Martin!

I think the people freezing themselves are crazy. Freezing human tissue does so much damage to it, almost seems irreversible (for now).

goodbye & goodluck with you're chemistry homework, physics, or biology
-
@lxAgnosticxl Of course i dont, but believing in souls is still idiocy regardless of how stupid i might be.. goodbye Mr. troll :)
-
It's clear you know virtually nothing on what you're saying ,
-
@lxAgnosticxl Nevermind the fact that i never claimed to be proving anything, merely demonstrating a simple path to the conclusion that there is no reason to think a soul is involved in any aspect of the workings of the human mind - proofs are for mathematics, not philosophy.
Tell me, what benefit can i gain from spending my time reading more about this kind of nonsense?
Anything?
Is it better than to be doing my chemistry homework, physics, or biology?
I got my doubts ;)
-
@lxAgnosticxl Soul dualism you mean?
That's still idiocy, unless of course some pretty solid evidence is brought to the table some day to prove that it's true, and even to that end the very idea hasn't yet been formulated in any coherent or testable way.. it's gibberish in terms of reality, that's what it is.. gibberish about energy-this and disembodied-that floating in ether.. nonsensical talk about sensory perception being available with no organs to perform those functions, ect.. childish
-
What you said is compatable with dualism, in other words it proves nothing.
Again did you bother to look this up?
-
@lxAgnosticxl Actually i pulled it out of yours while you were sleeping...
Regardless, if it's incorrect then correct me, otherwise complain about something more substantial ;p
-
"any mind we humans possess is a direct result of the continuous functionality of our brain."
*SIGH* WOW did you even bother to look this up , or did you pull it straight from you're arse
-
1. You breathe air and exhale CO2.
2. You require nourishment.
3. Your heart circulates the air/nourishment/CO2.
4. Your brain ceases to function if 1,2, and 3, are not all met.
5. If the brain is damaged or ceases to function, the mind follows.
Therefore, if you think you have a soul, you are an idiot, and you should feel bad for being dumb on purpose when 1-5 clearly demonstrate that any mind we humans possess is a direct result of the continuous functionality of our brain.

@FallofDarkness55 What pill do I take again? lol
-
This idea of 'condition x' which formed me possibly being able to repeat itself, forming me again is quite intriguing to me. I think of it in terms of like a lottery with infinite numbers to choose from, or nearly infinite... at some point, even if the odds against a number to reoccur are staggeringly unfavorable, the slight chance that it could happen is what we're looking at here. If I'm 'number '22956,' in this lottery of existence, this number COULD repeat at different points in time! Crazy.
-
@FallofDarkness55 Whatever you say. No one will ever know what I experience besides me.
-
@MunkyDrag0n yes but it will be eternal darkness because that's what you believe.
-
@FallofDarkness55 So whatever you believe is real in the outside world, eh? So then I don't have to believe there is a heaven nor a hell. I don't believe in reincarnation. If i go to the outside world, will i be there forever?
-
@MunkyDrag0n that's because you create your own outside real world. beliefs create a hyper-reality. death is a portal to an extra-dimensional space. In essence you will have an extra-dimensional body once awakening in another universe. M-theory + parallel universes = the only natural reincarnation.
-
@FallofDarkness55 Why should I believe you? What people sense when dead is never evident to the real world. People coming back from near-death like comas do not all sense the same thing. Why should I take your word for it when their word (which is far stronger than yours) doesn't agree with you?
-
@MunkyDrag0n It exists. Believe me. Death is a portal to the real world. In the aggregate we are living inside a dream. Also Inception + Avatar + The Matrix + Star Wars = the true nature of reality.
-
@FallofDarkness55 Has anyone discovered this world? Our perceptions are limited to the physical world. There is no evidence of an outside world. The Buddhists looked for it, the Chinese looked for it, everyone has looked for it. If we cannot sense it, then it doesn't exist. Period. You can try to look for it.
-
@MunkyDrag0n we are avatars in the physical universe. The real world exists outside of our universe. Enough said. Everything we sense is simply an electrical interpretation of our brain.
-
@FallofDarkness55 How do you find a mind outside of a body (i.e. outside of a universe)? How do you find a mind outside of a brain? I don't think a mind can exist outside of a brain. Never been found. Someone may have proved it. But you haven't proved shit, man.
-
@MunkyDrag0n remember the "time" before the big bang? we have minds existing outside the observable universe as well as inside the universe which we can see from our senses. i proved it moron.
@MrArpas123 I'm sorry the idea of obedience is I think demeaning and telling if a God or savior requires it. Obedience is blind; listening to someone critically is conscious living. You may agree and sometimes follow through with what they recommend, but to be obedient is just mindless. As such even if God or Christ demonstrated their existence I could never be obedient. At best I could agree with their suggestions should they make sense. But never obediently follow them.
