If you are just starting out in to the world of terrain, dont be intimidated by all of the new terms and equipment. Later on, you may want to use high density polystyrene and foam board, you might venture into the world of drybrushing or stippling. Maybe getting to grips with a hot wire cutter or an Xacto knife, but for now, all you need is creativity.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you rush out and buy all of the new supplies and tools, you can end up spending a lot of money and having no experience on how to make it all come together as one interesting piece, this route can be really discouraging for a beginner.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
y advice is simple, use everyday materials such as:

Cereal boxes
Pringles tins
Water bottles
Cans of beans
Scissors
Drinking Straws
PVA glue
and so on.

  • @AquaNeo3 : Yep, insulation foam would look much better - but the point of these videos is to make terrain from stuff you just have lying around. A better way would probably be to cut out the 'bricks' from thin cardboard. But absolutely, if you have the materials use them.

  • hmmm not so good looking, try replacing the toilet paper tube with insulation foam, then you can make your tube out of that, using a ball point en you can then indent the foam to make real textured brick effects.
