  • I can relate to your frustration! Some fabrics are actually woven "off grain"; also, some fabrics are treated for soil-resistance, leaving a coating the prevents the fabric from being squared-up. Could you describe your project for me?

  • I'm glad this video has helped you. It's not always necessary to go to this length to find the straight of grain, but it is important when making curtains and garments where "proper drape" is essential. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

  • Thank you so much for sharing this valuable tip. I had no idea it even existed, and was spending absolutely ages to get my fabrics straight xx

  • What a helpful video! Especially for a rookie like me:)

  • I'm still having trouble with some of my fabrics. I find the straight grain, but the fabric doesn't line up on the selvedge. I tried to square it by pulling but then it goes out at the cross grain and vice versa if I pull it in the opposite side. It's driving me mad and I haven't made any more stuff because of it.

Please give me some helpful tips : (
