@jraybay Yeah...which is why I watch both. Imho a motorsport fan will basically get the best of both worlds watching F1 and IRL. Yeah...IRL is below F1...but everything is below F1 so that's not exactly saying anything.

As for the old. Yeah, they may be plenty of passing in the old...probably the main reason why most people look back on those times fondly. But that's not the case anymore which is unfortunate. IRL use to be crap but they are getting much better now Look at the 2010 perfect

These are also two different motorsports and it's hard to complain about either . But like I said. formula 1 is on a circuit IRL on an oval passing is easier in IRL at the end of the day still top drawer pilots in both series. Roll on 2010. These new circuits in formula 1 are shit and don't compare the new with the old. theres plenty of passing at the old circuits.

O no m8 Richmond is a nice track. problem is the one groove thats available at short tracks. I watch kansas, texas, richmond anyway and chicago IRL races and indy obviously. Its a videogame m8 everything is fun. Monaco is the best and spa francorchamps.

Yea I wasn't I dont think they use push to pass at short tracks. Like I said. recently the racing has been good everyones talking about IRL again. push.t.p is an excellent addition. F1 and IRL have consistent passing now.

Iowa is a cookie cutter oval. No real character In other words...the Valencia of ovals

richmond is a driver's track Have you even driven richmond with IRL in a sim? Fantastic driving. Just like Monaco. Monaco races are usually horribly boring. But Monaco is a blast to drive for drivers (and sim racers). Same principles.

BTW dont compare the cookie cutter dime a dozen ovals Look at the fantastic ovals. Texas and Chicagoland for ex. 3 wide .001 sec finish. Top notch racing

O for sure it's a totally different sport. and this 'overtaking' at richmond is when your opponent wrecks or there are pitstops. Iowa too. The Irl shouldrace on real courses and leave the ovals to nascar I just don't see what you see in open wheel chassis' going around an oval for 200 laps.However with this push to pass more passing is available with the push of a button. The racing has been good recently I respect that and think its a brilliant. reminds me of the KERS button in formula 1

@jraybay except those who cant handle their skill in heavy traffic 3-4 wide will either crash of fall behind (look at Mika Duno or Nelson Piquet's failed attempt at the indy 500). You think ovals' is just full throttle? Yeah right. Look at Richmond's heavy braking. I'll see you maintain a draft under those conditions with 5 cars all within .5 second of you
