After doing the Super Mario Bros. walkthrough, I decided that I might as well do Super Mario Bros. 2, the often overlooked title in the series. Oh no, I'm not talking about the game we people outside Japan always knew as Super Mario Bros. 2, I'm talking about the real one, the one we know appropriately as Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels from the Super Mario All Stars 16-bit remake (you must all know the story of how it was released on the Famicom Disk System in Japan and not brought to America originally for its overall higher difficulty and resemblance to the first game). Here is the game in its original glory, note that the English text is exactly how the game was even in Japan, in fact, this is the Japanese release you're watching. Since I don't want to spend the rest of my life playing this game perfectly and I don't want to post videos where I die since it would be pointless for you to watch, I use an emulator to make a save state at the end of each completed Level, but not during the Levels themselves, meaning that the Levels in each video are the result of my best play with no use of save states or cheats of any kind during their course. I have legitimately beaten this game before, but in this one, as opposed to Super Mario Bros., I do die a lot, hence the save states (only between levels) to spare you the time lost in watching pointless retries. Being a complete walkthrough, I won't use those secret passages everybody knows, I will play every single level there is in this game, it's not that long anyway, just really a lot more challenging than the first game. Is it better? Well, there are more features and Luigi, which I'm not using, is different from Mario with his higher jump and lower traction. There are some nice ideas in the game and the level design really does get creative (for its time), but my only complaint is that it's too hard (I'm not saying hardest game of all time, mind you), expecting you to know the levels like you created them in order to know exactly what to do to not fall in gaps in certain places. Like most hard games, a challenge is welcome, but making the game a little bit easier (not so that a 5 years old could do it, but you know what I mean) could have made the game even better. Of course, in the All Stars remake, they did make it easier by allowing you to save not just between worlds, but levels also, which is exactly what I'm doing here in a relatively close way. Don't forget, if you have requests like for another video game walkthrough or something, just ask here or on my channel or even by sending me a message and if I can make it, there are good chances that I will.
obviously a TAS video....

@buhshmuh That's because it is. Well, not a proper record breaking TAS video, but done in an emulator and with save states here and there.

Yeah, I tend to do that, there are only certain pieces that I copied from previous walkthroughs. I use this to remember a little bit what I thought of the game if I ever get around to writing a review at a later date for my website.
