@802wolves most of their natural habitats around the globe are unsafe. many humans hunt and kill apes. she is not tortured, she always has food, affection, and attention. and what do you think about the domestication of cats and dogs??... that can be considered comparably worse than this. people just get pets for their own personal gratitude. these people are teaching koko while learning about her species

@Rustpuke Koko became obese near the end of her life? Shes still alive idiot. In the 70s, it was the law for exotics to be chained if not in an enclosure, thats why in the video when shes inside she isnt chained. Koko is now in her 30s and still alive and healthy(she isnt fat, gorillas are not skinny) so her diet wasnt THAT off. she still lives with Penny, indoors. Search for her vids with kittens.
