Well, the video is five minutes, but it took a day of preparation and about two hours spreading the hot asphalt. This stuff is heavy and it dries quickly, so you have to move fast, otherwise you'll have lots of lumps!
I saved a lot of money by doing it myself (with the help of my neighbor, of course.) Every professional paver I called either refused to do the job because it was small, or they wanted an insane amount of money...$2,000! I did it myself for around $380. Ha! Those "pros" won't be getting any of my money!
@NeoFalcon69 Thanks! And sorry for the wait! Even though the asphalt is hot when it comes off the truck, it cools quickly, so we had to spread it out within two hours. Make sure to wear a junky pair of boots, because you will have to throw them away afterwards. Tools can be cleaned with diesel fuel: dunk them first to give a slippery coating, then after the job is done, dunk them again and set on fire to melt off the tar. Keep some water nearby in case the flames get out of control.

Finally another video Frank!
How long do you have to lay out the hot asphalt? I'm thinking of doing my own carport.
