  • Show the ThinkPad Tablet in the classroom for the next video.

As a mathematics major I want to see the handwriting recognition go from handwriting to latex symbols :)

I want to jot down a math equation then be able to circle it as command for copy, and then drop it into wolfram alpha as input ;)

Also be nice to grab that output from Wolf Alpha and be able to paste it back into the notes as well.

Very excited to see this tablet as it's king of the hill for tech specs and Lenovo build quality.

  • @intellectable Thanks much for the comment--I'll pass your idea along to our video production team. Regards.

  • Now if it had an app to open the airplane hatch, everyone would buy it

  • Ah finally I know, why everyone has a Tablet, because they are using it, why they are flying their own jet ...

  • ARM Cpu - lame. At least it looks cool. Would be nice if this were able to function like a normal PC.

  • Nice, I think its a little price.... 399 price point would have been better I feel, good job, great for business needs

  • @jaudh3ws Hi, I like your comment very informative. I actually don't know much when it comes to Latex coding. Therefore, I was hoping there would be some auto magical converter program to leverage my ignorance versus actually learning how to type it out. I guess if I really want to be a true math beast I am just eventually going to have to learn latex.

  • @intellectable I think the lenovo employee is patronizing you. There is *no way* they will implement a handwriting to latex converter on a lenovo android tablet. I'm not sure why you even need it. By the time you have written your formula, copied it, exported to LED (or whatever latex editor you're using), I could have *easily* have hard coded the formula by typing it by then with proper modifiers and tailored to whichever packages you have loaded in the preamble. I just don't see the point.

  • As seems to be the trend in the comments, I am also a math/phys major that wants a pen and paper replacement. This looks like the first tablet which actually has a purpose and isn't a toy!

    +1, Lenovo.

  • Wow, that is a very clunky tablet!

  • whatever mr. intellectable said...

i would buy this once i've tried it and liked the user experience coz that's a major issue, if it ain't as smooth as butter (*itablet 2*) it would be a deal breaker.

from a future Masters student looking for sumthin not a laptop but for note taking :)
