It was after a normal day at school when life took a debilitating turn, and in Shaq's own words, Everything just went blank. Who would have known that a ferocious medical condition would suddenly attack his spine? Who would have known that this healthy, active pre-teen would lay helplessly immobilized in intensive care? Credit hard-earned results of therapy at The Children's Center Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit (PMRU), or maybe a miracle, but you'll watch Shaq become a walking inspiration that's even gained the admiration of an NBA star.

The Children's Center in Bethany, Oklahoma, is a private, nonprofit organization serving children with complex medical and physical disabilities in an atmosphere of love and hope.
