The Tin Bath Extra charter departs Sheffield 2 hours late after being diverted through Lichfield, Stoke and Derby due to the last wagon of a Rail Delivery Train derailing at Totley on the Hope Valley Line.

Due to depart at 13:54, the pair finally left at around 16:00.

Fresh from their season hauling the Jacobite between Fort William and Mallaig, Black 5's 45407 (Carrying The Jacobite headboard) and 44871 (Carrying The Royal Highlander headboard) did the honours.

  • It looked like 44871 cab number was the larger version as painted by St.Rollox works and she did have a 65J (either Fort William or Stirling) shedplate

  • @Calyeman 44871 has spent the summer up at Fort William on the Jacobite so that may explain it. 45407 joined for Octobers running as cover for another failed Black 5.

  • @CallySleeperKid You got that the wrong way round, 45407 spent the summer at Fort bill, and 44871 came to deputise for 45231 which had failed. The St. Rollox numbers where a mistake by the owner, who referenced his previous purchase when ordering, forgetting his last purchase was for the Jacobite photo charter the previous year, but he quite likes them so theyve stayed on.

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • Waited at Lockwood for it for an hour but went home freezing cold after giving up the wait.
