  • i dont understand, does this not create bubbles? i learned that a small tiny dot in the middle of the proccesor is the best way and that this method is actually the worst ??

  • @PlaystationTREY We have tried many ways of applying and think the brush is the best to dispense the Liquid Ultra. Therefore we recommend it. Understandably everyone has their own opinion and experience.

  • What is the best way to apply this? Surface when using cotton stick looks very uneven.

  • @DjiXas We recommend to use the added brush. Small unevennesses are normal and no problem for the performance.

  • Question: Is it safe to use this on a CPU without an IHS (like a mobile CPU)?

  • @hsew You can also apply the Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra on CPU without IHS. Biut please pay attention and apply carefully that no other parts are touched.

  • @DjiXas Surface does not have to be ultra flat. But the liquid should have a shiny mirror effect. Let the cotton absorb the lqiuid

I did not use the brush and I would also not recommend it.

I imagine the tiny bristles could snap while applying the liquid if you are holding the brush wrong. This snapping can throw around tiny bits of the liquid which can result in short circuits in the area. (especially around the CPU socket itself)

By using cotton sticks you wont loose any liquid.

  • I've put some Liquid Ultra on my two 6970s, the temps are now much better than using the Liquid Pro.

Mainly because I could use more of it, there now is a thicker layer between GPU and watercooling block.

People, you must be 100% sure the chips are in complete touch with the cooler. This usually works with CPU coolers but less with GPU coolers.

Temps with Ultra are now 47°C vs Pro 67°C. The layer of Pro was too thin and thus cooling was 'bugged'. Now it's all great. :D CPU has Pro.

  • @hateWinVista It is not necessary to reapply the Liquiud Ultra after some time as it does not elder and dries not.

  • stupid question:

Does it dry so I need to re-paste them again like after a few years?(So do the Liquid MetalPad version.)
