Alan Stivell, nome d'arte di Alain Cochevelou (Riom, 6 gennaio 1944), è un cantante, arpista, cantautore celtic fusion francese.

A lui si deve in gran parte la rinascita ed il rinnovamento della musica tradizionale bretone, che, a partire dagli anni settanta, lo ha reso celebre nel mondo intero. Il suo nome è legato indissolubilmente all'arpa celtica, strumento del quale non solo è un virtuoso, ma che è letteralmente rinato con lui e con la sua famiglia.

This is a truly beautiful song, as is every track on a l'Olympia.

Imho, as an Anglishman en Scotia, the man is a god, and this is his best album. I've watched live Breton fest vids, and they are good and get many more hits, but for my 20 centimes, he was never better than in 1972. To create "Renaissance of the Celtic Harp" - studio, no vocals(?), with arrangements - and "a l'Olympia" - the only truly successful folk-rock album - in the same year...

Long live the Gaeltacht...
