  • thats pretty awesome, congrats!

  • That plastic soup ladle is a brilliant idea! Will be way quicker than doing little handfulls. I was using a plastic plate also last time I went detecting (good for scooping up decent amounts of dirt to pass over the coil).

  • do you have to do it in an area with particular kinds of geology? or could someone go into the bush anywhere and find some?

  • nice!

    about $250-300?

  • this movie is so good that when you lick the nugget to taste and see if its real....thats funny ! I am going to start tasting my nuggets as well.

  • I need a gold detector that will pick up fine to micro fine or pinhead flakes. Thats all we've got in our canyon. Any suggestions on what kind i should buy? I would like to not empty my wallet either... around 500 mabey...

  • you cannot do this as a dependable source of income because gold nuggets are very rare. Over 90% of gold in the world is from microscopic particles up to 1/8'th of an inch. Gold's average concentration in the Earth's crust is 0.005 parts per million. This is compounded by the fact that you are only able to look at a depth of a few feet max with a metal detector. Also you never have a guarantee of how much is in any particular area or if there is any more there at all.

  • Another great video! I gotta get me one of them digging tools it sure beats carrying a shovel and a pick. So that 3.9 gram chunk is worth about $125 us (a good day's wage). Do guys in Australia do that for a living? it sure looks like you could and it's fun as well as healthy too. Sorry, one more question, every hobby has a down side, so what is this ones? bugs? knee problems? too much fun?

  • Nice one. I just spent a week in Vic with my new 4500, came home with only a 0.2g nugget from Manuel's Reef in Cays. Will hopefully get down to Vic again in the future months and find some more before you detect it all ;-)
