In 2009, Jeff Friesen, a CH2M HILL engineer, served as a World Water Corps® volunteer on two trips for Water For People program in Malawi, Africa. The objective was to observe, evaluate, and report on: the current status of water supply systems at the community and public institution level; the current level of sanitation coverage at community and public institution level; and evidence of hygiene practices (hand-washing, soap/ash) within each community and public institution. The data will be used to help both Water For People and the local water board develop a plan to help eventually eliminate deaths in the community due to poor sanitation and the lack of clean drinking water.
Jeff shares his story in the latest edition of Access Water
