Why do Muslim women have to cover? Are Muslim women oppressed? What does Islam say about gender relations? Not another boring and unconvincing lecture about the rights of women in Islam and of those in the West. Yasir Qadhi explains how a supposed male bias myth has arisen only within the past few decades and is being used to attack Muslims on their beliefs. In this lecture, he shows how using stereotypical responses doesn't work, and describes exactly what methods to use when answering difficult questions on Islam. This talk also discusses ruling on philosophy (western philosophy) - Aristotle, Socrates, etc (What Imam Malik, Imam Abu Hanifa said about such things) all about "Muslim philosophers".What is the proper approach to giving dawah regarding such matters and current trends on women's "rights" vs Islamic rights for women.

Get some popcorn, take a seat, and get ready to listen because Yasir Qadhi is about to debunk the male bias myth.

Yasir Qadhi was born in Houston, Texas and completed his primary and secondary education in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He graduated with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Houston, after which he was accepted as a student at the Islamic University of Madinah. After completing a diploma in Arabic, he graduated with a B.A. from the College of Hadith and Islamic Sciences. Thereafter, he completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology from the College of Dawah.

His published works include Riya'a: The Hidden Shirk, Du'aa: The Weapon of the Believer, and An Introduction to the Sciences of the Qur'an.

Yasir Qadhi is currently pursuing his doctorate, in Religious Studies, at Yale University in New Haven, CT. At AlMaghrib Instiute he teaches the Light of Guidance and the Light Upon Light courses, which focus on aqeedah.

  • Masha'Alah! Very nice lecture.

  • May Allah reward you Yassir Qadhi YOU ARE BRILLIANT

I have personnaly try to talk to people about Islam I feel exactly the same

    Tawhid Tawhid Tawhid

  • Not really. Spanish Christians don't believe in God. They believe in Dios. French Jews don't believe in God. They believe in Dieu. Arabic Jews and Christians don't believe in God. They believe in Allah.

  • @ONEwayORtheHIGHWAY87 exactly , just ask them how a Christian Arab calls God , ?? and they will see

  • The english language did not exist pre-1066; the Bible was not revealed in English; Prophet Jesus was not english. Your right God is not synonymous with Allah because you can add a suffix to 'God' e.g. Godess, Gods, Godesses, so the name God is not befitting for those who claim belief in One God. In arabic, no prefix or suffix can be added to Allah. The closest translation of Allah to English is 'The One Worthy of Worship' i.e. the One True God. Thus Arab christians say Allah, not God.

  • The people referred to by this verse [surah tawbah: 5] are pagan Arabs who had been waging war against the Prophet (pbuh) & who had broken their covenant and treaties with him. Look at the verse immediately before [1-2] & after [6], the context of the verse becomes clear; we see that the pagans were granted a four month amnesty with an indication that when the four months were over, fighting would resume. Verse 4 exempts some of them from the resumption of hostilities. The Qur'an is not 1 verse.
