The terminal (e.g. Bash in Linux or PowerShell in Windows Servers) allows you to do more things more efficient then GUIs. So ho much do people use terminals?

They development goes into more natural interfaces. What does a typical user do? Browse, type. Maybe open 2 Windows to look at one while comparing/typing other. Thats the power of tablet metro, Wanna do complex stuff (1% of avg user work) - use desktop? For 99% - use what feels natural. That's the idea.

I would just like to add to the general thoughts that windows 8 is shit by saying that it is a 15 year (ish) step backward in technology that intends to limit functionality to the same level as a phone
