A VIA video showing a side by side comparison of a VIA OpenBook mini-note prototype with a VIA Nano 1.3 GHz processor playing a 1080p HD video as compared to an Asus Eeee PC 1000H with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor. The VIA Nano plays the HD video smoothly and delivers power efficient performance without compromise while the Intel Atom stutters and renders the video unwatchable.

  • so to tell you guy. Your realy full of it. the atom cpu can to play 1080p. i have almost the 1005ha and it plays 1080p like the other laptop on the left. i bet you had the Eee pc on power saving mode.

  • This was so unprofessional it's ridiculous! I mean, I think I'm right in saying this is the first tech company video where you can see the spokesman's chest hair.

Regardless. There are tons of videos on YouTube of people watching 1080p or 720p on their Atom-based computers. Make up your own mind.

  • VIA is a shit company. Their garbage is very buggy and cannot compare to Intel's stuff.

  • Wait.....i had a intel atom D525 a desktop atom processor but it cant playback 1080P

    can any one help me?

  • ES TODO MENTIRA ESTE VIDEO. EL VIA NANO NUNCA VA A RENDIR MAS QUE EL INTEL ATOM Y LO SE POR HABER PROBADO AMBOS, INCLUSO EN VIDEOS QUE SON MENOS DE 720P CON EL MISMO REPRODUCTOR INTALADO CORRIA EL VIDEO EN 10FPS CONTRA LOS 24 FPS DEL ATOM, ADEMAS LOS NANO TRAEN VIDEO UNICHROME, MUY MAL RENDIMIENTO, ESAS Y LAS SIS SON MALAS PLACAS DE VIDEO ONBOARD.

  • I downloaded the same 1080p video on my acer aspire one with the intel atom n270 it ran perfect with no lag at all

  • And now Acer is already talking about their own version of the IPad, somewhat smaller, but still a competitor. And they might be going into the corporate server business this year, so Acer is moving up, but I bought the Samsungs to try the Via myself. It's not the end of the World. Peace.

  • you can get an acer 1410 at below $400 with core 2 solo, which kicks nano's ass is every aspect.

  • Just bought 2 Samsung NC20's with the VIA Nano, and to say the least, they are awesome. At 550.00 a piece, It was worth the extra 200 to get the performance of a Laptop out of the netbook. Peace.

  • Well, my N270 plays HD videos no problem, and my Vcore reads 1.013V... which I believe is lower than the Nano...

  • At 5 frames a second...

    It was horrible.
