@RubricOfRuin and then a recording device (like for instance a mini disc) which can be using a microphone instead of a line in from the mix table can ruin the recording of an otherwise maybe perfect performance :-) so the track does not have to be produced, but can instead just be recorded by an audience member :-)

@chelala86 Live music is produced too. Microphones are placed in the correct positions, levels are set, realtime effects can be applied, &tc.; all of which can lead to a pleasing sound or a poor one.
