The biggest stars in astronomy are actually on earth, right here at the University of Toronto. Ray Jayawardhana , David Lafrenière and Marten van Kerkwijk are now world-famous for their 2008 discovery of what appears to be a new planet eight times the mass of Jupiter orbiting a star 500 light-years away. The team led by RayJay, as he is known, captured this historic picture with one of the worlds biggest telescopes, located in Hawaii. Learn more about the astronomical discovery and other exciting developments in Astronomy and Astrophysics.
