This is the entirety of my part in the 1990 film "Tune in Tomorrow" starring Peter Falk and Barbara Hershey. I was excited to be working with director Jon Amiel because I loved his adaptation of the British mini-series "The Singing Detective" based on the novel by Dennis Potter. I am also a big fan of Potter's and had my mother buy as many of his novels as she could get her hands on when she visited England. The whole set, which was at the DeLaurentis studio then in Covington, Georgia, looked great, made to look like New Orleans in the fifties. During my part Amiel had me walk back-and-forth carrying this sign for over three hours spouting disgust with Pedro Carmichael. He did not know yet what nationality my character was, just that it was "foreign". My voice was overdubbed with someone else's in editing. One of the highlights of my time there were talking about Elvis Presley with Hope Lange during lunch break. She had worked with him in "Wild in the Country". Another fun moment was having my hair cut with Keanu Reeves, who I had never heard of before even though he had already done the first Bill and Ted movie. He was very gracious and a great guy, as far as I could tell at the time. It was fun, too, seeing scattered about the surreal remnants of the set of "The Exorcist III" (the one with George C. Scott). I saw the premiere of "Tune in Tomorrow" purely by accident at the Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis that summer. I was thrilled at first seeing my name at the bottom of the cast list on the program sheet they handed out. I'm listed in the credits as "Pawl Burke . . .Albanian Protester". This is my only major film role so far. Maybe someday . . .
