I am indeed very grateful that I live here. However, that doesn't mean I have to agree with everything the military does. And, I am not sure how much faith I should have in my country -- the same country that prevented Jews from immigrating here during the Holocaust and sent shiploads of Jews back to their deaths (the States did the same thing). People should not blindly accept what their countries do.

This was a thought-provoking video. Nonetheless, Canada is a member of NATO, and is bound by the NATO charter to defend fellow members, if one is attacked. Currently NATO forces are preventing the Taliban from retaking Afghanistan. If NATO leaves Afghanistan too soon, then the Taliban will take over, and reopen the terrorist training camps. Canada and the rest of NATO will not be any safer, if the troops leave before a stable Afghan government is in place.

Do you honestly think the Taliban will ever be totally defeated? It represents the radical right wing of Islam. You can't kill a theology or an idea. The new current government is not stable and is having difficulty controlling the country beyond a small sphere. Canada is not accomplishing anything nor canit really.
