Steph and I stayed in Otago, near Dunedin in a B&B run by Robert and Christine Brown. Robert is a wildlife videographer of enormous international repute, having worked on filming documentaries for the likes of David Attenborough. He and Christine are also lovely people and extremely generous hosts. Anyway, Robert took us out on a (long) trek one morning to a beach near the tip of the Otago peninsula. He said he couldn't promise we would see anything, but when we got there we witnessed a large colony of wonderful (and very rare) Sea-lions who had probably never been in contact with humans before. These extraordinary and playful creatures were a joy to behold and, thanks to Robert's expert technical advice, I was able to capture this on video. Thank you Robert (and Christine) for what became one of the most unforgettable days of our lives!
