This is a compilation video from a full-length interview with Alan Cramer. Alan was a navigator on B-17's during WWII and has an incredible set of experiences to share. This interview is just one of a large collection of interviews we submitted to the Library of Congress for the Veteran's History Project. For more information please visit: http://www.loc.gov/vets/

  • If you get to speak to Mr Cramer again, ask him if he knew an "Otis Allison". My grandfather was an Ace Pilot (nicknamed "Ace") and he flew in the 801st as well. Unfortunately, he passed away before I was able to get his story from him. However, I've managed to collect many articles on him and some of his friends.

Thank you kindly, and keep up the Excellent Work!

  • I'll see if I still have his email address and, if I do, I'll forward your message to him. I haven't talked with him in three years so I hope he is still with us...

  • Thx for sharing - Im The Danish Representive for the CARPETBAGGERS - 801st/492nd Bomb Group - and this video here show me WHY i used so much time of my life on the 2WW - To tell the storys about those STRONG men who foght in WW2

  • When these vets talk about their experiences in post-war Europe, they have nothing but nice things to say about the Danes, Dutch and Belgian's. To a man, they said the people from these countries treated the allied forces very well, so the admiration is mutual.

  • hey if u like WWII documentaries and veteran interviews check out some of my videos i have.

  • Pretty cool. What music did you use? I'm trying to find new sources for music that isn't copyrighted.

  • bless him !!!

  • Great men, all of them. I have looked up to these men all of my life. Thank you for my freedom.

  • This is awesome. I so wish more of the greatest generation would tell their stories. Like most, my grandfather won't talk about it (which I understand) but once they die, their story is gone forever.

  • Are you sure - i have so much information about them - and there are websites and The Carpetbaggers have a reunion every year - contact me ober YT mail if you want more info ;-)

  • Thank for sharing this important part of history. My dad was a pilot with the 801st/492nd-a Carpetbagger, and I have always felt their story was never told. It is such an important part of history and what an amazing group of men.

  • oh boy, uh, a lot of different movies. saving private ryan, pearl harbor, cinderella man, apollo 13. pretty much any movie with music that sounds powerful and patriotic. u can get them off of itunes, limewire, or just buy the soundtrack.
