Hey guys - I wanted to share the back story on this. I posted a response to a video contest by gimmeaflakeman talking about pets. I said a little about my shih-tzu Bella. She's a rescue (a puppy mill used her to breed then ditched her because of her age), probably about 5 years old, and I got her in March 2011. She would pace the room, pant, jump up and down on furniture, and would get very frantic for no reason. But now she is relaxed and plays well with her sister. She sleeps on my bed, she doesn't pace, and she's very cuddly. In the beginning I thought I had made a big mistake but there's no such thing as an old dog that can't learn. It has been one of the biggest joys of my life to bring this wounded, scared and neglected dog into my life. I feel very accomplished and proud of her for completely changing her "worldview" in less than a year. Please consider adopting an older dog!! Big thanks to Victor and Tomoko - I really love your videos and I've been a fan for a long time now. Thanks for giving back to the fans!
Here's a before photo: (the red all over her paws is from her constant, obsessive licking. It went away after a few months. She's also always dressed because she was malnourished and would shiver) http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/8256/bellabrandnew2.jpg and http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/4685/bellabrandnew.jpg.
