I was directed here from the Bernstein recording (tf5fM1i3MGQ) by peterernst100, who commented how fortunate he'd been to have a chance to play in this (amateur) performance. And how! It's worth comparing the two performances: Bernstein holding it back and extracting the last drop of emotion, while this conductor just thunders through like a steam train (0:35-0:55). Terrific. Dare I say this, but I'd have this one over the Bernstein.
