  • Dropping pretty low? What spacing were you doing? Or was it only direct spots you were putting in?

  • @Cantelo16 Sorry for my extremely late response. Yes, these were very low drops and you're correct, these were for lighting small bonfires placed at the corners of the experimental plot area. We had a thermal camera on board a helicopter observing this fire, the thermal imagery requires reference points on the ground ("corner fires") with known GPS locations; these are what the helicopter is lighting in this video.

    I use the drip torch a bit here in Western Australia. Pretty effective bit of machinery, you would have to agree. We haven't used the Thermal imagery though? Im just curious, is the thermal imagery at your prescribed burns experimental, or do you use it regularly? And if you do, what is the purpose? Checking for hopovers? intensity through the smoke?
