Hi Joe I need the extra weight of a lead acid to keep weight over the front wheels to help with stability , they're lots cheaper as well and don't need anything fancy in the way of charging , I also had it sitting around doing nothing on my test stand after my 10/98 turbine engine testing...... weight isn't a great issue for me , the turbo by itself weighs ~70 lbs , with a potential 200 lbs thrust it'll still get moving fast enough .
