Thanks for joining us for bad game number 12 as we continue Gameboy month.

This is Spider-Man and the X-Men - Arcade's Revenge. The title's to long and has too many hyphens, seriously!

LJN made this piece of shit on a multitude of systems, such as the Super Nintendo, Genesis, Gameboy and Gamegear.

This game was already a not so great SNES game, so porting it to the Gameboy would make it great, no?

The sound sucks. The controls are responsive but the way the web works, it makes it almost impossible to swing from a standing position. You can't even spin a web when you're in the air...

Anyways, the title has X-Men in it. You gotta save them from someone called Arcade. Once they're saved you can use them.

Wolverine is probably one of the worst characters in the game, all he can do is punch and there's a wall I never got through on the first level.

Gambit plays totally different, it's fine although the backdrop makes it hard to see enemies sometimes and you have a limit on cards.

Storm is in a water level for some reason... Where electricity hurts her for some reason, plus you have a limit on breathe.

Cyclops controls like a damn tank. Once you're crouched you have to press up to stand.

Overall this is a pretty bad game, there's far worst... but still it's not saving it from being a bad game!

EDIT: I don't know why I actually said the sound sucks, it's actually the only awesome thing about the game

  • you have to extent the claws on wolverine to get through that wall. Actually, for the GB, this looks like a pretty decent port.

  • you see I knew that on the SNES game, but it's probably mapped to like the select button or something on the GB which I didn't even think of pressing.

The thing is, the ports fine, but the original game was shit. If you beleive that this game is good, please play Maximum Carnage (SNES), then play this.... Actually you gave me an idea right there.

  • I wasted some much of my childhood on this game, never got beyond the first level. Quite painful, because I only had like one game for my gameboy..

  • Thanks for the game review. It's funny watching spiderman get stuck on simple stuff. I bet it wasn't funny to you ^^. Won't be wasting my money on this crap.

  • Look at how Wolverine walks. Isn't it like that Robbie Rotten pic that says "Well f&!k your shit"?

  • gambit stage i think is most difficult

storm stage need many practice, quite interesting

  • The first spider man song sounds like robot rock to me for some reason

  • Gabit's stage and storm's was the shit..very difficult...

  • For some reaon I like the music for Spiderman...

  • wow just listening to the music you can tell this game is made of fail

  • You right, the game maube sucks (in gameboy) but.... the music is great, is a Nerdsynthpop...
