  • So any news on this? I'm going to Gran Canaria and am more worried about the poisonous gas that the volcano is supposedly emitting and making people sick.

  • @MrOceanPenguin There is no problem caused by the gases in Gran Canaria and El Hierro

  • @presicanarias Good to hear and thanks for the answer. :-) But wasn't there a researcher who got ill because of some gases around El Hierro?

  • @MrOceanPenguin It was a small problem with a technician who was locked in an area too long. He was ill a few hours and quickly recovered. For now there is no air pollution problem on the island, much less in other islands such as Gran Canaria

Saludos.

  • @presicanarias Thank you for the clarification. :-)

  • Yes. At present, there is a submarine eruption on El Hierro island. But, there is no danger to the population...

The Canary Islands government is being transparent and timely reporting of the evolution of volcanic seismic phenomenon. At all times we are moving the information they provide scientists. Greetings.
