@killerskillet Conflict this. It's a season finale at home for one of the greatest players on the back end in the history of the game. The game had absolutely no bearing on anything; not the standings, the draft picks, nothing at all. Why not give the guy a chance to go out as a winner in front of his home town fans. Even the Oilers didn't give a fuck; you don't see any whining from them on what was arguably bad reffing. They even stick around to give a nod before their crowd salute. True class.

@killerskillet well thats how the NHL used to be and thats when Foote dominated so the refs gave him a break and let him go back to his old days. Prior to the lockout that was hockey. Not too far removed...

Why do people think pointing a camera at a monitor creates a video? Plus, Foote's last shift was a joke. First, he knocks the stick out of an Oiler's hands (interference). Then he grabs another Oiler's jersey and impedes his progress toward a loose puck (interference again). I'm not an Oilers fan (because who is, right?), but it feels like Foote knew he wasn't going to get called for that trash... which may make him a genius... so I'm conflicted.

Going out in style
That was probably the best last shift by a retiring player I've ever seen. McNabb couldn't have described that any better. The Avs collapse after the All Star break was painfull to watch. It was almost impossible to watch every game since and not be suicidal..and you wondered how you could feel good about anything when the season ended - but to watch Foote go out like that in his last game...in his last shift along with Dutchy and Jones winning the game...makes you feel a little better right?
