The Philippines has a long and brutal history each time election s are held in the country. On May 10, 2010, the country implemented its first electronic and full automated election counting and transmission process with hopes of ending the long wait for election results that were counted manually and the violence that erupts leading into the elections up to the proclamation of winners. This report was aired on RTE's World Report in Dublin on May 16, 2010 with host Helen Donahue.
