ratiman - that is very interesting; Richard Hayman listed as the conductor.
Many, many years ago, he was a conductor of pops, and made many hits withy his group (this goes back to the early 50's). he was a protege of Arthur Fiedler, of the Boston Pops Orchestra, and that one used many arrangements of Hayman and even conducted some of his compositions.
Amazing at times how those who have modest beginnings manage to rise above their origins.

I only listened to the Tchaikovsky March which I've always loved, fully as deserving of popularity as the more familiar 1812 Overture or Marche Slave.
It is a superb performance. Unfortunately, there is nothing indicated anywhere as to what orchestra or conductor was involved. Does anyone know?
