Caughlin Singletrack - Great Basin Bicycles - Reno - Tahoe Nevada - mountainbike

This mountain bike singletrack trail is located in Reno, Nevada. It is on the west side of the valley. The trail has many quick steep climbs and sudden sharp turns. It is hard to get any real speed on the trail as it transitions from turn to turn, and some of the turns come out of nowhere. Especially when you are following someone at 15 ft. As evident in the very end of the film.
The bike being chased is a Yeti Arc Hardtail, and the bike chasing with the lipstick camera is a Cannondale Rize with 5" of travel.

I am using a Sony Lipstick Camera hard mounted to the head tube of the bike. The camera is then connected to a digital cam corder with an S-vid cable in my backpack. Thanks for asking.

This trail is just off of Caughlin and McCarran Blvd. This trail starts at the start of the Hunter Lake Jeep road. Where the Hunter road goes strait west, you will follow a jeep road due south, cross a stream, and about 1/4 mile past that you will hit a grove of pine trees. The single track starts just off of the left side of the pine trees. If you come into Great Basin Bicycles, I can print you a map and give you more detailed directions. Caughlin to Village Green to Pine Haven Rd. to end. You will be park here, and ride up the dirt road to your left. Up the hill there will be a jeep road heading due south. You will cross a stream, and the jeep road will head due east above Balardini Ranch. Continue, and the road will turn south and head for a grove of pine trees. Singletrack starts in the trees on the left of the road. Follow ST from there.
