Micro logging is a great way for just about anyone to harvest lumber and firewood from your back yard. The equipment as shown here is very compact and affordable to purchase as well as easy to use. I get my power from a 6.5 hp motor that I purchased new and attached it to a used Nova snowblower drive unit that gives me 6 speeds forward and 2 in reverse. Then I bought a log cradle that I use in conjunction with my home made log cart to move the bigger logs. This whole set up can be obtained for $500 dollars or so, which is by the way is much cheaper than purchasing a 4 wheeler, and I still get plenty of exercise walking behind the drive unit.
