The House debates Section 8 Voucher Reform Act of 2007, sponsored by Congresswoman Maxine Waters (CA-35). The bill expands the number of families receiving vouchers by 20,000 a year for each of the next five years and ensures the program works effectively for the nation's low income working families with children, elderly and disabled. Rep. Stephanie Tubbs Jones speaks during debate prior to passage moments later.
I'm thinking about applying for the section 8 SCAM & finding a little old man to rent my house till he dies in it. The thing is that section 8 like "The Projects" is synonymous with urban blight and ghetto life. I don't want to be forced to rent the house to rift raft that's gonna bring roaches, drugs, police sirens and vandalism to my home or neighborhood. I care about the community. I just don't think section 8 types are gonna have the discretionary income that will support local business's.
