Thanks for the props mate! I've only had the nerve to try the one Tool riff, but as for "Jambi", it's classic Carey. Not to presume I know the song well, but once you get past the 9/8-6/4 time signatures and polyrhythms, his fills aren't too terribly hard to play. It's just that, like most GREAT musicians, when he plays anything, he plays it with perfection, style, groove, and finesse'. The fills in Jambi are mostly 16ths that are preceded by either 16th trips or 32nd ruffs on the kicks.

GREAT VIDEO. Any other Danny Carey break downs ie his HH/ or Ride cymbal playing when he plays in the song's pocket? Also his fills. I'am always fascinated ho he uses double BD, Tom, and saves the SD to weave in and out of the song. There is a prt in "Jambi" (sp?)where he comes back to the groove w this Double Bass/ insanity that sounds like an alien uncoiling?

hey! glad you liked my paradiddle lesson. honestly, most rudiments are kinda boring to practice, but sadly necessary. that being said, there are handful of rudiments, the paradiddle being one of them, that are great for your chops as well as fun to play that also happen to rock on the drumset.
