French Bread Pizza Recipe - Sauce From Scratch and Hot Italian Sausage

Ingredients:

One loaf fresh French bread cut halfway in length and width (2 of 4 pieces to be used)
2 links hot Italian sausage with casings removed
1 cup mozzarella cheese
10 oz. tomato sauce
4 cloves minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Italian herb blend (or 1 teaspoon dried herb blend)
1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking

Preparation:

1. Crumble and sauté sausage until cooked. Transfer to paper towel to drain.
2. Sauté garlic in olive oil
3. Add sauce, herb blend and salt
4. Spread sauce, cheese and sausage onto two halves of bread (1/2 loaf)
5. Bake for 12 minutes at 400 degrees
