My Coolermaster 120mm fans started to rattle so and I bought a pair of Thermaltake 140mm Fans and installed them.
I'm thinking about upgrading my gtx 260s to a single gtx 285. I want to use this rig for WoW and other games. I want to make my next rig crazy powerful.
Specs:
Coolermaster NV690 case
2 Theramaltake 140mm fans(top)
1 green 120mm LED fan (front)
3 coolermaster 120mm fans (bottom, back and side)
EVGA 750i FTW Motherboard
Q9550 OCed to 3.0 GHz
Zalman 9500AT CPU cooler
2x2Gb Corsair Dominator @ 1066MHz
300Gb VelociRaptor (only HDD so far)
2x EVGA GTX 260 c216 in SLI
Xigmatek 850W PSU
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
What is the northbridge fan for? Pleas answer, btw i subbed!

@zDanishKid I kinda answered this in one of my other replies on this page. The northbridge gets really hot on this mohterboard due to all that it handles. It handles the communication between CPU, RAM, AGP or PCIe. The fan that came with it is smaller than the one I have on it and is very loud. The newer motherboards don't have this issue anymore cause most of these features are now handled on the CPU instead of the northbridge. Thank you for watching :)

@nickfighter28 To put it simply.......I'm doing this cause enjoy doing it, even if it is overkill. I won't have this system much longer anyway. I am planning a new build perhaps with a single gtx 580 :-)

Why not use a large heatsink on northbridge instead of a fan, pointlessi think having a fan!!
Im going for 2 120mm fans one blue led and one red!

@nickfighter28 It is not pointless. When you run an SLI set up it gets hotter. 750i NB chipsets handle communication between CPU, RAM, AGP or PCIe. So if you overclock and run SLI the northbridge will get hot. That's why I have a fan on it.
My Nothbridge does have a Heatsink on it. I'm not about to get a larger aftermarket heatsink for it cause they don't manufacture these motherboards anymore. Thank you for your input anyway.
