Think about what your saying. It's a sporting approach these guys take.... so of course it's not geared to a street approach.. they poke each others eyes out then they can't drive home silly. You want a more "real" approach feel free to visit some of my students classes in Iraq, or Afghanistan. But quit busting these guys chops for their approach.

how many times has the aikidoka been stabbed? isn't it apparent by now that aikido doesn't teach knife disarms properly? it's totally irresponsible for aikido instructors to tell their students that their training methods will prepare them properly for the street... why isn't the defender allowed to incorporate strikes? grabbing the wrist of the attacker holding the knife? gimme a break!!! even in these tournaments, the attacker is not attacking for real... poke his eyes for god's sake!
It's not the best bout ever but I think you'll find that Josh is the 2011 International champion.
