East meets West in an old French colony on the southeast coast of India and the result is a feast for the senses in every way! From its historic streets and monuments to its beachfront stalls and hawkers, from its street musicians and restaurants to its palm trees and palm readers, this is about as close to France as India gets.

Thanks as ever to Shyam (now finally seen and heard onscreen) of Wannabe Studios http://network.wannabestudios.org/ for organising the trip and helping to shoot and edit.

  • The BIGGEST Cherry in the world,....PONDICHERRY,...lol...Wow truly is a beautiful place, as french as India can get,....and the drum maker guy, makes an AWESOME drum,...IRIE beat to it,....beautiful place indeed,..thumbs up good buddy and thankin' ya for the COOL share!! =D

btw, HOPE YA HAD A GREAT CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEARS 2012!! = )

  • @qualqui I was wondering where you'd gotten to, Jose! Thanks for swinging by and for the comment and the like. That drum maker guy will be happy to know you think his handiwork is awesome. He followed me up and down that beachfront road for an hour, attempting to make me buy it, till I finally said "I'll give you 100 rupees to talk to the camera instead". Shyam, my host here, said "he would have sold you the drum for that" but I think I got a good deal. A Very Happy 2012 to you as well!

  • Awesome vid mate,

Merry Christmas to you and your family!!

hope you had a nice day, where ever you are lol

  • @pootang47 You couldn't have given me a better Christmas present than a like and a comment on this, my favourite video from this trip (well, so far anyway). You have good taste! I'm back in chilly Bangalore now (well, chilly compared to Pondicherry) up in the hills. Had a wonderful Christmas, and I hope you had the same! I just popped over to your channel, read your Feed and had a smile at the various comments you've been leaving about the place.

  • Nice video, I see you've been travelling somewhat..? :D

I personally would have adjusted the colors just a bit more, so it the video would give out a little bit more of a colourful look of your trip, as the video does give a bit of a gray shade to it.

Definetely looking forward to more videos from ya', let it be travelling, sightseeing or cars (which I'm most waiting for to see from ya').

Time will tell if the palm reader was correct about the things he said..!

  • @FrozenBlaze Thanks for watching, Sami! I've been itching for these Indian travelogues to get more views. Know what you mean about the colours- there's some trick an editor friend in Australia knows to amp up the colours that I don't know how to do here- at least not yet. But you'll be pleased to know a video on Indian cars is coming. As for the palm reader's predictions- ya, it all just sounded a bit too good to be true...

Well, if you have Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas, then all you gotta do is fine tune the Red Midtones or overall hue and saturation of the film.

That's what I do nowadays with videos that I want to have a more of a colorfull look.

  • @Himaryous And the Indians who live there now are proud of the fact and keep the traditions going. Thanks for tagging along on my visit!

  • @mwazit Well, I'm back in Bangalore now but did just look up Gingee Fort and it looks amazing! Would love to see Vellore Fort too for the fact it's surrounded by a water-filled moat if for nothing else. I'm guessing you've seen my "The Fort Nobody Knows" already?

  • Very interesting, a little France in India!
