Top video, the burlap looks great on your rifle im sure it will protect the stock perfectly. Good example of how well it burns as well.

Hathcock used a Remington 700 -.308 with a Redfield 3-9x40 scope.

@palerider2029 Hathcock used a Remington 700 chambered in .308 win/ 7.62x51mm with a Redfield 3-9x scope. Winchester model 70s were also used. They were just store bought during the Vietnam war. After the war in 1977 the 1st M40A1 prototype was made in Quantico by Marine Armorers. In 1979 The M40A1s with Untertle scope were issued to the Fleet Marine Force.

@Jim27296 ya u got a point waith now im scared
Very instructive video, thanks. I understand that you don't want an inherited rifle to get scratched. Is that the same kind of Remington Carlos Hathcock used?

@MrDoDilicious Hathcock used a Winchester Model 70 I believe with an Unertle scope. However, the model Rem. 700 platform like my rifle is still used to this day as the sniper platform commonly referred to as the m40 series of rifles, though it is usually chambered in .308. The secrete service has used 7mm Rem. Mag. rifles like mine in the past.

Wow. I once had a 7mm mag hunting rifle-but it was stolen before I could even shoot it.

@wilb6657 Dang that sucks. As much as the ammo cost I doubt the thieves could even afford to shoot it.
