i agree.the word "freedom" is very vague. for i feel americans have very little of. i have lived in CA and i know for a fact(well my own opinion) that of course gays (should) have the same rights as everyone else. fact is that discrimination against any group of people will NEVER stop. only minimized. its just like how blacks back in the 60's or whenever, had to obtain their "freedom". there is no true"freedom" anywhere.

gays and lesbians have always been allowed to get married even to each other just of different sex and happen to be in traditional marriages as we speak. Are you implying that maybe they are all living a lie or unhappy in some way? if your going to say that they would be miserable in living such a way, then welcome to the club. everybody , gay or straight, is equally having a miserable time with oppositesex marriage. what their asking for is SPECIAL RIGHTS that exist outside of the constitution

There are a number of points there. First, whether any couple is happy or miserable in their marriage is irrelevant. In Maine, and in many other places, opposite sex marriage is possible and same sex marriage isn't. Also regarding the constitution, Bush was right. It is just a piece of paper. A 200+ year old, very important piece of paper written on by intelligent people, no question, but still a group of statements representing fallible and dated human opinion.

It is the 21st century, not the 15th century! I have a couple of mates whom are gay, they are really nice people. And a lot of gays cannot help the fact that they are gay, it's the way their brain is wired, so they cannot actually help it. This is bullshit this banning of gay/samesex marriages! WTF!
