well it shows that zombies were not slow at all. when excited they took off at speed the zombie attacks all sides of the car and seems to almost jog after her.

...why is she driving so slowly? When zombies are chasing you, I don't think you need to follow the speed limit...

@djlime99 Nothing in this film says they're brainless. As you can see, his head is intact, so he still has his brain in there. Zombies are just dumb, not brainless, they still can use simple tools.

@xkendylkaosx First of all, they don't just want brains in this film, they want warm flesh. Being alive, Barbs flesh was warmer than Johnnys. Besides Zombies are dumb, and lack any kind of attention span. If Barb hadn't moved, he would have fed on Johnny, but she had to show the zombie she was still there, and so he forgot about the one he'd allready killed, and run after her.

The only thing George A. Romero didn't think through is, well, if zombies simply want brains, why didn't the zombie ignore Barbara and feed on Johnny.
