Part 2 of the film that won "Best Film" at Council Rock High School North Film Festival.
Dorian Foyil and Christian Stewart heard about a film festival coming to their school in early January, 2010. The two students previously made films for BlackWaterMovies the past few years before. The channel consisted mostly of filmed-and-edited-in-one-day, silly films that were entertaining mostly to themselves, but found a small community of followers.
Dorian and Christian, both film makers and film lovers since early childhood, decided on a plot for the film, instant messaging each other ideas until the perfect idea hit them. The thesis for Good For Nothing was created that night.
January through February Dorian and Christian worked furiously on the script, making sure their plot was clear, fresh, and felt unrushed despite a ten minute time limit.
The script was finally done near the end of Feburary.
Without rushing into things, Dorian and Christian made sure their script was perfect and that they had found all the right actors before finally shooting the film, finishing in early march.
The editing phase was a very long process that Dorian and Christian pulled multiple, red-bull filled, all-nighter's for, eventually finishing in mid-march.
Good For Nothing finally was finished...Well, most normal people would finish there. Dorian and Christian watched the film multiple times, mostly happy with what they had done, but created yet ANOTHER version of the film, fixing all the small annoyances that plagued the young directors.
The film was finally ready for the festival.
The time had come, Dorian and Christian refused to show anyone the film until the festival, and when that time arrived, it blew the school away.
This was the first big step for Dorian Foyil and Christian Stewart. More to come?
You bet your sweet ass there will be.
