They didn't force us to live in secrecy or tell us we couldn't get married. We didn't rise up against oppressors and finally demand our rights. @charlamain2209 ... my mom told me when she was a child businesses had signs up stating "No blacks allowed" or "We serve whites only". Black people had to go to separate businesses. Are you saying we should do the same for same sex and heterosexual weddings? Maybe the owners of that business should put up a sign stating "Only straights can wed here." That paints an ugly picture doesn't it?

@charlamain2209 What you don't seem to understand is that there are bigots of all kinds who hate different people for different reasons. You seem to understand that it's not ok to discriminate against people because of race. I'm sure you understand it's not ok because of sex. You certainly don't believe people should be discriminated against due to religion. But homosexuality seems to bother you personally, so in your book to discriminate against homosexuals is just fine.

@charlamain2209 The bottom line is no one is stopping you from running a business. It's not legal to discriminate based on race, gender, beliefe, or sexual orientation. I'm an atheist but I honestly think there should be an exception made in the case of religious organizations only because it seems religions are against it. But you're not talking about running a religious organization and you can't just pick and choose who you can provide service to. ...

@elgmalone let me ask you this, was what we did to the Indian's right? We forced them onto reservations, put cotton fabrics on their children, forced them to go to white mans schools, and forbid them to speak their native tongues. Many people thought that was what was best for them. They didn't believe in our way's yet we forced them into what we considered civilized society. cnt.
