  • Schon, I didn't know that about GE. I think IBM used to do the same thing--at least that's my impression.

  • Hi Gary, I like your approach to teaching about cultural tendencies. There is a famous application of your model - GE is very explicit about hiring from the far end of the distribution of certain culture's bell curves so they get a similar group of employees worldwide, regardless of the prevailing cultural norms.
