  • Interesting clip! What year is this from?

  • The clip is from the mid-80s. He was promoting the release of the 'Hearts & Bones' album. The interview concluded with a showing of the 'Rene Magritte' music video. I'll try to upload that soon.

  • @desertbee paul simon TOO should not presume

  • a website: savesimon dots com

  • amen! God bless you Paul Simon.

  • Paul, you're so handsome !!

  • The Dixie Hummingbirds were the gospel group that sang on Loves Me Like A Rock. However, Claude Jeter was a member of the Hummingbirds before he formed the Swan Silvertones. So when the interviewer made the mistake, it really wasn't much of a stretch to assume Jeter sang on Loves Me Like A Rock as that was the gospel-tinged song on the album. And Jeter had been with the Hummingbirds. No biggie.

  • looooool "you don't look like a major swansilvertones fan" so subtley funny. he is so lovelyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • He's so freaking awesome. c:

  • Let's agree to disagree then. In my view you are being naive, while probably in your view I am exaggerating.

  • Well, he offered a correction as to what song Jeter played on, and from my point of view that was it. He seems genuinely pleased that the interviewer knows the gospel group.

  • It is open to interpretation, but to me it is obvious that Paul dislikes the guy and does not believe a single word of the presenter's statements as to "The Swan Silvertones being his favorite group" and "I remember using Rev. Claude Jeter on (blah blah)". The presenter was badly prepared, had his facts wrong, and nevertheless wanted to show off as a knowledgeable guy. Kudos to Paul for praising him politely all the way into the grave.
