Josh MCC/Solo filmworks - show reel 2008

My name is Josh McCollister I'm a freelance motion graphic artist and 3 D animator, born in the United States, currently working in Central Europe, returning to Dallas, Texas on feb 4th 2008.

The first video contains examples of water fx and high dynamic range image texturing. The primary programs used were Realflow, Lightwave, 3ds Max, Afterburn and After Effects in the final composite. In realflow, I used to real wave to create a infinite water plane, using daeoms tools to displace the surface texture and create chaos.

The first music video was created in Lightwave, 3ds Max and Cinema 4d with After Effects to do the final composite. Each one of the flying cars, is simply a normal car with its wheels removed and additional elements built in. Multiple passes were rendered, we used a layers to add a greater number of vehicles in the scene. The soft light bounce was created in Lightwave using multiple area lights rigs.

The second music video was created in Lightwave, Boujou 3 and Digital Fusion. Shot on a green screen stage using tracking markers, loaded into Boujou 3 and finally the data was output to Lightwave,


Mondi tv spot was created in Lightwave, 3ds Max and Cinema 4d with After Effects to do the final composite. The heart and the buildings were purchased through turbosquid. I used a simple rig to animate the hearts and cloned the movements across multiple objects.
