Pentagon Animation

This animation models what may have happened to the Pentagon when it was struck by an aircraft on September 11, 2001. The aircraft model, with a load of fuel in the wing tanks, is shown hitting a grid of posts, representing the Pentagon's steel-reinforced concrete columns. The simulation shows the fuel onboard as it crashes into the building like a massive river of fluid. Three observations in the simulation stand out. (1) The columns destroyed in the building facade do not have to correspond to the wingspan; the columns cut the lightweight tips of the wings, rather than the wings cutting the columns. (2) Each reinforced concrete column cuts into the fuselage until the column is destroyed by the river of fuel. (3) The plane rapidly decelerates after impact, as witnessed by the buckling of the fuselage near the tail structure.

  • LOL HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA

  • Has anybody seen the engines of the plane in this simulation? Think about it. Titan-Carbon maybe was "powdered" before the crash?

  • They need to stop getting uni kids working on this and listened to the peer-reviewed scientist at A+E.

  • This is old debunked non scientific crap.

  • what about the four-tonne chunks of titanium known as engines on the wings?

  • I wonder what this animation would've looked like if they'd bothered to model the reinforced concrete wall the plane smashed into.

  • nice cartoon!

  • somebody forgot the engines.

  • @drifter402 Yup, you're right no engines. If they were to put the engines in the vid they would have to show them go through, but there's no holes. So the next step would be to have them blow apart, but there was no parts. the next step is to have them disintagrate which is impossible. So I guess they just said " let not put any engines people won't know"
